Brown landscaped Audley End for Sir John Griffin Griffin (later 9th Baron Howard de Walden and Baron Braybrooke). Work was begun in 1763, and the grounds are curently well maintained by English Heritage. Sewage works have recently been built in the park; however, they are not noticeable from the house or lake. Below is the curving river that Brown shaped and widened.
